Jakob Buchanan was the first jazz student ever to be accepted at the Royal Academy of Music Aarhus soloist class. A position from which he has been able to work closely with familiar artists while also creating unexpected constellations. In 2016, Jacob received the DMA Awards "Jazz Release of the Year" and "Danish Composer of the Year" with the album "Buchanan Requiem", which has been praised as a masterpiece, and most recently he has written a major work for the Aarhus 2017 opening ceremony. He has for several years collaborated and recorded with Marilyn Mazur and Jakob Bro, but at this evening he will play with the pianist Makiko Hirabayashi, bassist Jesper Bodilsen and Morten Lund on drums.
