Bob Rockwell: Vibration Society

“Premium” is Montmartre’s series of rare intimate concerts with jazz giants that you cannot normally meet on small intimate stages. These concerts are priced above the normal tickets to cover costs and travel for these heavy-weights.

Bob Rockwell was raised in Minneapolis and in his early career he toured the U.S. He worked in Las Vegas in the late 1960s and early 1970s, then moved to New York where he, among others, played with The Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Orchestra. As a member of the big band he came to Denmark and since then he has released numerous albums for SteepleChase Records. In Europe, Rockwell has worked with Ernie Wilkins, Kenny Drew, Alex Riel, Marilyn Mazur, Kenny Wheeler, Jan Kaspersen and Jesper Lundgaard. This evening, it is possible to experience his powerful tenor playing when he once again visits Montmartre, this time with Eric Ørum on piano, Francesco Cigna on guitar, Morten Ankarfeldt on bass and Tony Cigna on drums.
