The last time Katrine Madsen visited Montmartre, she gave us her beautiful interpretations of Ella Fitzgerald, and the critics received it well and positive.
This time around we are excited to present Katrine Madsen with her own quartet.
Katherine Madsen Group delivers a fascinating mix of Katrine's own material and standards - and as always, when Katherine sings, the stage is set for an evening of sit back, relax and enjoy.
One beautiful song after another.
The rhythm group is one of the best out there, and especially Henrik Gunde is considered one of the most vibrant personalities of Danish jazz at the moment. A perfect evening for those who love vocal jazz of highest quality.
Katrine Madsen on her new album.

Now the tradition continues. Montmartre will provide space for specially invited guests every Friday from 11:00pm to 02:30pm, each week with new artists.
The after hours jazz party is informal and will be a great place to drop in after dinner in town - or if you just want to experience something really unique. Come and flirt your way through the night.

Linda Pettersson, vocalist
Lars Jansson Trio
Lars Jansson (piano / SE)
Linda Pettersson (vocal / SE)
Thomas Fonnesbæk (bass / DK)
Paul Svanberg (drums / SE)
Lars Jansson is perhaps the best songwriter in Scandinavian jazz. Very few like him can write melodies in a contemporary style that captures the listener.
Lars Jansson is an incredibly gifted pianist who throughout the years has been the first choice for many of our best singers from Cæcilie Norby to Sinne Eeg.
Now he presents to us another of his favorite singers, Swedish Linda Pettersson, known as one of the few singers with the same nerve and intensity as Monica Zetterlund.
On these two evenings she will be singing mainly Lars Jansson's songs as well as a selection of the classic standards.
The stage is set for a beautiful and intense experience with four of Scandinavia's best musicians. Scandinavian Winter Jazz at its' best.

Based on the book "Montmartre i Nørregade - Mig og Monten" (Montmartre in Nørregade – Me and the Mont) the author and former music director of Montmartre in Nørregade, Niels Christensen, tells about the golden years from 1976 to 1989.
Come and hear the entertaining, informative and untold stories about the big stars that played there, the night disco, the more than exciting everyday life, and the bumpy road from jazz to fusion to funk, rock, pop and all the music that came alive on the stage in Nørregade.
On request by many, the Jørgen Emborg Quartet will play the music that made this group one of the leading sounds – the nordic tone - within Danish jazz: "Winter Days", "Do not touch my Rocking Chair" and "Februarkrystaller" are on the set list.

THE INCREDIBLE AND REFRESHING NEW AMERICAN SAX SENSATION: MARCUS STRICKLAND QUARTET
Marcus Strickland, sax
Marcus Strickland (saxophone / US)
David Bryant (piano / US)
Ameen Saleem (bass / US)
E.J. Strickland (drums / US)
With a tone described by critics and audiences as lyrical, liquid and luminous and at the same time forceful and exact, Marcus Strickland is turning heads in every club he plays.
He has been named 'Rising Star' by Downbeat Magazine's Critic's Poll in 2010 (tenor sax) and 2008 (soprano sax).
JazzTimes Magazine's Reader's Poll named him 'Best New Artist' in 2006, and as early as 2002 he placed third in the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Saxophone Competition.
But what really matters to him is the audiences: "I don't want them to walk away with their brains hurting. I don't want them walking away with a calculator trying to figure out what happened. I want them to walk away thinking, wow that was a great hang."

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Jazzhus Montmartre is a small intimate club with very limited space. Latecomers may have to stand in the bar, or find room for their chair where there may be space left.
