Abekejser blander hiphoppens tunge rytmer med jazzens fine harmonier og nuancer.
Inspirationen hentes fra nær og fjern og kodes sammen i en farverig junglemaskine. Bandet
leverer en urban cocktail af jazz, beats og elektronika, hvor ingen musikalske dogmer er sikre,
når de først går på scenen. Kraftige hiphop-beats møder bidende synth-lyde, ambiente rockguitarer og en fyldig bas.
Hvad skal jeg vide om dem?
Bandet opstod i det aarhusianske musikmiljø omkring Det Jyske Musikkonservatorium. De fik i 2019 deres gennebrud med albummet 'Floating Through the Universe' og slog sig dermed fast som et band, der tør gå egne veje. De har været nomineret flere gange til DMA Jazz og har spillet på store festivaler i både ind- og udland. Af flere er de ofte sammenlignet med internationale navne som Snarky Puppy.

What kind of music do they play?
Abekejser mixes the heavy rhythms of hip hop with the fine harmonies and nuances of jazz.
Inspiration is drawn from near and far and coded together in a colorful jungle machine. The band
delivers an urban cocktail of jazz, beats and electronica, where no musical dogmas are certain,
when they first take the stage. Powerful hip hop beats meet biting synth sounds, ambient rock guitars and a rich bass.
What should I know about them?
The band originated in the Aarhus music community around the Royal Academy of Music. They had their breakthrough in 2019 with the album 'Floating Through the Universe' and thus established themselves as a band that dares to go their own way. They have been nominated several times for DMA Jazz and have played at major festivals both at home and abroad. They are often compared by several to international names such as Snarky Puppy.
