— Jazz Special

What can I expect?
At this concert, the Denmark-based American saxophonist Bob Rockwell pays tribute to his idol on the stage of Montmartre—a venue Sonny Rollins frequented in the 1960s. Back then, he performed alongside other jazz giants from abroad—such as Dexter Gordon, Bud Powell, and Ben Webster—who made both Montmartre and Copenhagen famous for world-class jazz.
In true New York style, Rollins’ legendary repertoire comes to life as American Bob Rockwell takes the stage over two nights with his hand-picked quintet, featuring—among others—Italian guitarist Francesco Cigna.
What should I know about them?
