Hendes swing og charme tager verden med storm
“Champian Fulton er den mest talentfulde jazzsanger i sin generation" skrev jazzanmelderen Mark Stryker om den anmelderroste pianist og sanger. Og nu vender hun tilbage til Montmartre efter totalt udsolgte huse sidst.
Siden hun som 10-årig optrådte til jazzlegenden og familivennen Clark Terry's 75 års fødselsdag, er hun stormet frem på den internationale jazzscene.
Champian Fulton er datter af jazz-trompetisten Stephen Fulton og er fra en ung alder blevet eksponeret for den traditionelle, swingende amerikanske jazz-skat. Blandt hendes store inspirationskilder tæller musikere som Bud Powell, Red Garland og Errol Garner samt vokalisterne Sarah Vaughan og Dinah Washington.
Fulton mestrer begge kunstformer til perfektion og med respekt for traditionen in mente, har hun altid sit eget, unikke twist på fortolkninger af klassiske jazz standarter.
Gennem de sidste 20 år har hun udgivet 18 albums som leader, har turneret rundt i verden og spillet med legender som Nicholas Payton, Buster Williams, Jimmy Cobb og Louis Hayes.
Når hun til november genbesøger Montmartre, har hun allieret sig med svenske Hans Backenroth (bas) og den garvede danske trommeslager Kristian Leth.

Since performing at the 75th birthday of jazz legend and family friend Clark Terry at the age of 10, she has stormed onto the international jazz scene.
Champion Fulton is the daughter of jazz trumpeter Stephen Fulton and has been exposed to the traditional, swinging American jazz treasure from a young age. Among her great sources of inspiration are musicians such as Bud Powell, Red Garland and Errol Garner as well as vocalists Sarah Vaughan and Dinah Washington.
Fulton masters both art forms to perfection and, with respect for tradition in mind, always has her own unique twist on interpretations of classic jazz standards.
Over the past 20 years, she has released 18 albums as a leader, has toured around the world and played with legends such as Nicholas Payton, Buster Williams, Jimmy Cobb and Louis Hayes.
When she revisits Montmartre in November, she has teamed up with Swedish Hans Backenroth (bass) and seasoned Danish drummer Kristian Leth.
