Funky soul-fusion fra den berømte svenske guitarist og hans supergruppe "Cleo"
George "Jojje" Wadenius kan med rette kaldes en af Sveriges største guitarister. Med sin enorme popularitet i musiske sammenhænge, har han fået forøget anerkendelse med sin anmelderroste gruppe "Cleo", som gæster Montmartre denne aften.
Gruppen trækker dybe tråde til fusionsjazzens spæde start og epoke. Deres evne til at groove og spille takt præcist til fingerspidserne, tillader et overflødighedshorn af soul og funk toner, der ubesværet driver musikken til nye højder. Deres riffs er funky, mens de samtidig kan male de smukkeste atmosfæriske lydbilleder og inderlige melodier.
Guitaristen og mulitiinstrumentalistens arbejde spænder fra utallige studiealbums til diverse live indspilninger og koncerter som leader og sideman. I en lang årrække boede Jojje Wadenius i USA, hvor han indspillede og arbejde med giganter som Steely Dan, Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross, David Sanborn, James Brown, Paul Simon og Roberta Flack.
Foruden Jojje, består "Cleo" af basmaestro Lars "Larry" Danielsson, keyvirtuos Jesper Nordenström og den legendariske trommeslager Per Lindvall.

George "Jojje" Wadenius can rightly be called one of Sweden's greatest guitarists. With his enormous popularity in musical contexts, he has gained increased recognition with his critically acclaimed group "Cleo", which is visiting Montmartre this evening.
The group draws deep threads to the early beginnings and era of fusion jazz. Their ability to groove and play beats precisely to the fingertips, allows for a cornucopia of soul and funk tones that effortlessly drive the music to new heights. Their riffs are funky, while at the same time they can paint the most beautiful atmospheric soundscapes and heartfelt melodies.
The guitarist and multi-instrumentalist's work ranges from countless studio albums to various live recordings and concerts as a leader and sideman. For many years, Jojje Wadenius lived in the USA, where he recorded and worked with giants such as Steely Dan, Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross, David Sanborn, James Brown, Paul Simon and Roberta Flack.
In addition to Jojje, "Cleo" consists of bass maestro Lars "Larry" Danielsson, key virtuoso Jesper Nordenström and legendary drummer Per Lindvall.
