To af de største jazz-talenter i Danmark og Holland møder hinanden i denne koncert på Montmartre under Copenhagen Jazz Festival 2026.

Hvilken slags jazz spiller de?
Det store danske guitartalent Jacob Artved dyrker en lyd, der er forankret i jazzens guldalder, men som han samtidig tilfører et moderne drive fuld af egne kompositioner. Hans stil er inspireret af ikoner som Charlie Parker, Wes Montgomery og Sonny Rollins. Musikken er upoleret og ærlig, og tager udgangspunkt i jazzens standardrepertoire. Men Artved er fantastisk til at genopfinde det hele i nuet med en stærk energi, der minder publikum om, hvorfor jazzen med sin urkraft af evig improvisation bestandigt formår at forny sig selv.

Den hollandske saxofonist Gideon Tazelaar betragtes som et teknisk vidunderbarn. Han har turneret verden rundt med navne som Wynton Marsalis og Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra og er kendt for sin enorme klang og historiske musikalske indsigt, som han tilføjer stærke personlige farver.
Jacob Artved er forlængst udråbt som det største danske guitartalent i årtier. Han flyttede til New York som helt ung og blev hurtigt en del af byens fremtrædende jazzelite. Han har udgivet flere anmelderroste album, og i en ung alder spillet med legender som Billy Hart, Louis Hayes, Billy Drummond og Jeb Patton.

Begge musikere har haft deres jævne gang på de legendariske klubber som Village Vanguard og Smalls, og de bringer den kompromisløse "New York-attitude" direkte med op på scenen.

Med sig har de David Wong fra NYC på bas. Han har besøgt København flere gange med grupper som Hank Jonas, Roy Haynes, Jimmy Heath til Cecile Mclorin Salvant, Benny Green. I dag spiller han med i Bill Charlap's trio.
Med er også Michael Shekwoaga på trommer, der spiller i Kenny Garrett's band og har turneret over hele verden med folk som Joey Defrancesco og Gary Bartz. Hans mentor gennem mange år er Billy Hart.

What kind of jazz do they play?
The great Danish guitar talent Jacob Artved cultivates a sound that is rooted in the golden age of jazz, but to which he also adds a modern drive full of his own compositions. His style is inspired by icons such as Charlie Parker, Wes Montgomery and Sonny Rollins. The music is unpolished and honest, and is based on the standard jazz repertoire. But Artved is fantastic at reinventing it all in the present with a strong energy that reminds the audience why jazz, with its primal power of eternal improvisation, constantly manages to renew itself.

The meeting between these two giant talents is sure to be full of surprises.
Dutch saxophonist Gideon Tazelaar is considered a technical prodigy. He has toured the world with names like Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra and is known for his enormous sound and historical musical insight, to which he adds strong personal colors.
Jacob Artved has long been proclaimed as the greatest Danish guitar talent in decades. He moved to New York at a very young age and quickly became part of the city's prominent jazz elite. He has released several critically acclaimed albums, and at a young age played with legends like Billy Hart, Louis Hayes, Billy Drummond and Jeb Patton.

Both musicians have had their regular run at legendary clubs like Village Vanguard and Smalls, and they bring the uncompromising "New York attitude" directly to the stage.

With them is David Wong from NYC on bass. He has visited Copenhagen several times with groups like Hank Jonas, Roy Haynes, Jimmy Heath to Cecile Mclorin Salvant, Benny Green. Today he plays in Bill Charlap's trio.
Also joining the band is Michael Shekwoaga on drums, who plays in Kenny Garrett's band and has toured all over the world with the likes of Joey Defrancesco and Gary Bartz. His mentor for many years is Billy Hart.
