Den danske piano-maestro fremfører egne værker fra sit roste nye album ”A Good Day”

Jacob Christoffersen er en af de mest fremtrædende danske jazzpianister kendt for sine opfindsomme kompositioner og fængende spil. Hans seneste trio-album "A Good Day" er ingen undtagelse, og ved denne koncert fremfører han sin nyeste musik.

Albummet byder på forskellige stemninger - fra introspektive ballader til energiske funk numre og sjælfulde brasilianske rytmer.

Trioens dynamiske rækkevidde og improvisationer kommer særligt til udtryk i de 11 nye originale kompositioner, som albummet byder på.

Christoffersen er kendt for sin mangfoldige musikalske rejse fra Shu-bi-Dua for et par årtier tilbage til modtagelse af Ben Webster-Prisen, der cementerede ham som værende en af Danmarks ubetinget største pianister.

Han har ydet et kæmpe bidrag til både den danske og internationale musikscene, og med en over 25 år lang karriere, har han landet samarbejder med stjerner som Kenny Washington, Jeff 'Tain' Watts, Gregory Hutchinson, Joey Baron, Billy Hart, Jimmy Cobb, John Abercrombie og hjemlige Sinne Eeg blot for at nævne nogle få.

Til at akkompagnere sig på Montmartre, medbringer han to ypperlige musikere i samme klasse, Thomas Fonnesbæk (bas) og Rasmus Kihlberg (trommer).

Jacob Christoffersen is one of the most prominent Danish jazz pianists known for his inventive compositions and captivating playing. His latest trio album "A Good Day" is no exception, and at this concert he performs his newest music.

The album offers different moods - from introspective ballads to energetic funk numbers and soulful Brazilian rhythms.

The trio's dynamic range and improvisations are particularly expressed in the 11 new original compositions that the album offers.

Christoffersen is known for his diverse musical journey from Shu-bi-Dua a few decades ago to receiving the Ben Webster Prize, which cemented him as one of Denmark's unconditionally greatest pianists.

He has made a huge contribution to both the Danish and international music scene, and with a career spanning over 25 years, he has landed collaborations with stars such as Kenny Washington, Jeff 'Tain' Watts, Gregory Hutchinson, Joey Baron, Billy Hart, Jimmy Cobb, John Abercrombie and his own Sinne Eeg, just to name a few.

To accompany him at Montmartre, he brings along two excellent musicians in the same class, Thomas Fonnesbæk (bass) and Rasmus Kihlberg (drums).
