🇬🇧 ENGLISH:
Malene Mortensen has been on quite a journey from pop to vocal jazz, since she won the Danish Melodi Grand Prix in 2002 with the pop song "Vis mig, hvem du er".
She has since chosen jazz and has recorded albums with Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen, Alex Riel and Niels Lan Doky.
She has since toured most of the world and has recorded with some of jazz's biggest international stars such as Chris Potter, Mike Stern, Avishai Cohen, Christian Sands and Terreon Gully.
Malene Mortensen has been exposed to jazz since she was a child. Her father was the trumpeter and composer Jens Winther and her mother was the drummer Karen Mortensen. So it has long been in the cards that she would work in music. And to make the story complete, she is the sister of pianist Carl Winther.
Malene Mortensen's versatile background contributes to her singing with an exuberant technique that has ensured her a beautiful sound and clear intonations.
Her voice offers a palette of colors that master everything from classic jazz to smooth crooner RnB.
With her on Montmartre she has brought the experienced top musicians Søren Baun on piano, Morten Ankarfeldt on bass and Rasmus Lund on drums.
