Rumpistol Ensemble - Piano Trilogy Revisited

Tickets

🇬🇧 ENGLISH:

Award-winning composer and pianist Jens B. Christiansen—aka Rumpistol—will embark on a tour in February 2027 with a new quintet, performing music from his critically acclaimed piano trilogy: *After The Flood*, *Isola*, and *Going Inside*.

With this piano trilogy, released between 2020 and 2023, Rumpistol made a significant artistic leap. While he had been a prominent voice on the electronic music scene and a co-founder of the band Kalaha for over two decades, the trilogy placed him in a new musical landscape bridging neoclassical, ambient, and jazz genres.

The albums *After The Flood*, *Isola*, and *Going Inside* marked a breakthrough in terms of both artistic acclaim and audience reach. The music found new listeners and earned regular airplay on P8 Jazz, while international figures—such as BBC host Gilles Peterson—highlighted the releases as "fantastic and worth seeking out."

The trilogy emerged from a personal period of burnout, during which Christiansen rediscovered his connection to music through the piano. The result is an intimate, meditative sonic universe where organic compositions and improvisation blend seamlessly. On the February 2027 tour, the music will be presented through fresh live interpretations.

The concerts offer a sensory journey through Rumpistol’s piano trilogy, situated at the intersection of ambient electronica, atmospheric jazz, and neoclassical moods. It is a live experience for audiences who appreciate both deep immersion and powerful melodic landscapes—perfect for fans of artists such as Nils Frahm, Yann Tiersen, and Max Richter.
