Farvestrålende nye klange med rødder i Caribien, Afrika og Brasilien

Simon Spang-Hanssen & Ear Witness er resultet af et ægte transatlantisk samarbejde, der trækker tråde til store dele af kloden.

Musikken er et farvestrålende stilistisk mix af forskellige verdensgenrer, der komplimenterer hinanden smukt. Resultatet er i top og bygger på et solidt fundament fra fire jazz-sværvægtere:

Simon Spang-Hanssen (saxofon/fløjte) har gennem årtier etableret sig som en af Danmarks bedste og mest nysgerrige saxofonister. Han har længe været rollemodel for nye generationer. Hans musik har samtidig bragt ham rundt i verden, hvor han har samarbejdet med store spillere som Billy Hart og Richard Bona.

Mario Canonge (klaver) er fra Martinique og hans ægte caribiske stil er utvetydigt, når han slår sig løs. Han er kendt som en pioner inden for fusionering af caribiske og latinamerikanske stilarter.

Linley Marthe (bas) har spillet flere år i den legendariske musikgruppe "Zawinul Syndicate" og tilfører dybe rytmiske baslinjer, med inspiration fra sit hjemland Mauritius.

Adriano Tenorio (percussion) bidrager med rytmer fra sit hjemland Brasilien. Med et fundament i brasiliansk tradition lægger han et stabilt groove, der tillader de andre musikere frit spillerum.

Simon Spang-Hanssen & Ear Witness is the result of a true transatlantic collaboration that draws threads to large parts of the globe.

The music is a colorful stylistic mix of different world genres that complement each other beautifully. The result is top-notch and builds on a solid foundation from four jazz heavyweights:

Simon Spang-Hanssen (saxophone/flute) has established himself over decades as one of Denmark's best and most curious saxophonists. He has long been a role model for new generations. His music has also taken him around the world, where he has collaborated with great players such as Billy Hart and Richard Bona.

Mario Canonge (piano) is from Martinique and his true Caribbean style is unmistakable when he lets loose. He is known as a pioneer in the fusion of Caribbean and Latin American styles.

Linley Marthe (bass) has played for several years in the legendary music group "Zawinul Syndicate" and adds deep rhythmic bass lines, inspired by his native Mauritius.

Adriano Tenorio (percussion) contributes rhythms from his native Brazil. With a foundation in Brazilian tradition, he lays a stable groove that allows the other musicians free play.
