Line-up

🇬🇧 ENGLISH:

Saxophonist Cecilie Strange's ascension to the Danish jazz scene has been remarkable.

When she plays, her shoulders slump, and for a moment you can forget everything around you. Every note spreads through your body, as if you were suddenly back in your childhood home again. Thoughts fade away and are reduced to early dreams.

Cecilie Strange's compositions are often cool and deep, with a composed calm about them. Several are dedicated to those she loves - and those she has lost. She easily expresses a clear melancholy, which she takes as her starting point in the endless Nordic forests, hills and valleys.

Cecilie Strange has a wealth of publications and collaborations behind her. She is well-regarded and has repeatedly won awards for her works. Most recently in 2024 she received the Carl Prize in the category "Composer of the Year" in jazz with KALEIIDO with Anna Roemer, as well as guests Hannah Schneider, Lars Vissing, Rumpistol and Rasmus Sitarz.

Her album BEECH (beech) will be released on May 30, 2025 on April Records and is the last of four in a series that symbolizes and tells about her Danish and Nordic roots, motherhood, love, loss and grief, and inspiration from people, but not least the wonderful Nordic nature.

With her on Montmartre she has the amazing and seasoned top musicians: Peter Rosendal (piano), Thommy Andersson (bass), and Jakob Høyer (drums).
