Featherdrop skaber værker med en filmisk karakter, ((i et tilbageblik til modal jazzen)), med fængende melodier og foranderlige soundscapes.
Gruppen bevæger sig på én gang indenfor og udenfor rammerne af nutidig jazz, og fremkalder stemninger, som bliver hængende efter den sidste tone. De formår at kombinere kompositorisk dybde med virtuos improvisation.
Featherdrop blev dannet i 2023 af gruppens komponister Thomas Munk-Petersen og Stig Halskov i samarbejde med de to internationalt anerkendte og prisvindende solister, Eyal Lovett på klaver og Thomas Fryland på trompet.
Gruppen fik airplay på P8 Jazz med singlen Vinternat fra debut Ep’en Epilog (2024), og i foråret 2025 med singlen Dreaming, fra deres anmelderroste album Nocturnes (2025), mixet af Grammy-vindende Rich Breen.

Featherdrop creates works with a cinematic character, ((in a throwback to modal jazz)), with catchy melodies and changing soundscapes.
The group moves at once inside and outside the framework of contemporary jazz, and evokes moods that linger after the last note. They manage to combine compositional depth with virtuoso improvisation.
Featherdrop was formed in 2023 by the group's composers Thomas Munk-Petersen and Stig Halskov in collaboration with the two internationally recognized and award-winning soloists, Eyal Lovett on piano and Thomas Fryland on trumpet.
The group received airplay on P8 Jazz with the single Vinternat from their debut EP Epilog (2024), and in the spring of 2025 with the single Dreaming, from their critically acclaimed album Nocturnes (2025), mixed by Grammy-winning Rich Breen.
