Since 1959, Jazzhus Montmartre has been the center of many fantastic jam sessions.

The evening is kick-started by our jam trio, but beyond that you never know which musicians will show up and want to participate.

Among the stars who have spontaneously appeared at the door and taken to the stage since Montmartre's reopening in 2010 are Stevie Wonder, star vocalists Macy Gray and Charenee Wade, as well as top artists such as Ambrose Akinmusire, Thomas Morgan, Vanja Santos, Chris Potter, Bobby Watson, Pierre Bousaget, Johnathan Blake, Rodney Green, Christian Sands, Kenny Werner, David Bryant, George Garzone, Jorge Rossy, Doug Raney, Billy Hart, Lee Pearson, Greg Hutchinson, Eric Harland, Dave Kikoski, David Sanchez, Diego Figueiredo and many more.

You will find jam sessions at Montmartre on the first Wednesday of every month during our spring and autumn seasons, as well as every Wednesday during Winter Jazz in February, and during the Copenhagen Jazz Festival in July.

Montmartre's jam sessions are curated and led by bassist Anders Fjeldsted. Each time he puts together a new jam band to kick off the evening.

Musicians who come to participate in the jam session have free admission.

NOTE: There are both seated and standing seats for our Wednesday concerts and jam sessions, so come early if you want to sit.

It is free at the door to participate in the jam at Montmartre (except during the Copenhagen Jazz Festival). If you want to secure a space, do buy tickets in advance.
