Den legendariske amerikanske Blue-Note-saxofonist Jerry Bergonzi har opnået stor anerkendelse for sin banebrydende tilgang til jazzen. Nu kan du høre ham på Montmartre med tre danske topmusikere.
Jerry Bergonzi er rundet af den traditionelle skole og tydeligt inspireret af John Coltrane. Han spiller med en teknik og lyd, der har været med til at cementere ham som en af verdens førende saxofonister.
Jerry Bergonzi sidestilles med sin tids og generations største saxofonister som Joe Lovano, Bob Berg og The Brecker Brothers.
Foruden utallige samarbejder med netop dem, har han spillet med store kunstnere som Kenny Werner, Eddie Gomez, Roy Haynes, Mike Stern og Bill Evans. Særligt kendt er han for sin tid i “The Dave Brubeck Quartet”.
Med sig på Montmartre har han i et dansk samarbejde valgt nogle af kongerigets tungeste og bedste musikere, Carl Winther (piano), Rune Fog (bas) og Anders Mogensen (trommer)

Jerry Bergonzi is well-rounded by the traditional school and clearly inspired by John Coltrane. He plays with a technique and sound that has helped cement him as one of the world's leading saxophonists.
Jerry Bergonzi is compared to the greatest saxophonists of his time and generation, such as Joe Lovano, Bob Berg and The Brecker Brothers.
