Smuk og nybrydende kvartet blander jazz med klassiske harmonier
Carl Zinssou er en ung pianist og komponist, som skriver energifuld og følelsespræget musik til sin moderne jazzkvartet.
Med klaver og cello i front blander kvartetten elementer fra klassisk kammermusik, traditionel nordisk musik og moderne ekspressiv New Yorker-jazz. Det er et band, som ikke er bange for at skubbe til rammerne for, hvad en moderne jazzkvartet kan.
Med sin ret unikke lyd har Zinssou Quartet frigjort sig fra genretænkningen og taget lidt af det bedste fra forskellige verdner og lydbilleder. Deres debut-EP ”Et ungdomstestamente” er en hyldest til naivitet, livsglæde og alt det der fylder, når man er ung.
Bandet består, meget passende af unge musikere, som har en legende tilgang til musikken.
Med en fornyende tilgang til nordisk jazz og et stærkt nærvær på scenen lukker Zinssou Quartet lytteren ind i et følsomt, ekspressivt og legende univers, som sætter sig i sind, krop og sjæl.
BEMÆRK: Der er både sidde- og ståpladser til vores onsdags-koncerter og jam-sessions, så kom i god tid, hvis du ønsker at sidde.
Til vores onsdagsserie "Montmartre Wednesdays" kommer unge under 26 år ind til halv pris. Det samme gælder hvis du har gyldigt studiekort, samt for medlemmer af DMF og Dansk Artistforbund.

Carl Zinssou is a young pianist and composer who writes energetic and emotional music for his modern jazz quartet.
With piano and cello at the forefront, the quartet mixes elements from classical chamber music, traditional Nordic music and modern expressive New Yorker jazz. It is a band that is not afraid to push the boundaries of what a modern jazz quartet can do.
With its rather unique sound, the Zinssou Quartet has freed itself from genre thinking, and taken some of the best from different worlds and soundscapes. Their debut EP “A Youth Testament” is a tribute to naivety, joy of life and everything that fills you when you are young.
The band consists, very appropriately, of young musicians who have a playful approach to music.
With an innovative approach to Nordic jazz and a strong presence on stage, the Zinssou Quartet lets the listener into a sensitive, expressive and playful universe that settles in mind, body and soul.
NOTE: There is both sitting and standing spaces at our Wednesday concerts and jam sessions, so please arrive early if you wish to sit.
For our Wednesday series "Montmartre Wednesdays", young people under 26 get in at half price. The same applies if you have a valid student card, as well as for members of DMF and the Danish Artists' Association.
